About ReDPeTT

What is ReDPeTT

The Resident-Driven Program Tracking Tool (ReDPeTT) is an instrument created for the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) to monitor the progress of persons-in-training toward the completion of their graduation requirements

FETP has three levels of training: Frontline, Intermediate and Advanced; with increasing training duration and complexity. Frontline training lasts 3 months, Intermediate 9 to 12 months, and Advanced 24 months

Why ReDPeTT

ReDPeTT addresses FETP tracking and reporting challenges:

  • Field-focusmakes tracking residents' activities difficult
  • Understaffedprograms report activities less timely and completely
  • Multiple reporting requirementsgiven collaborative nature of program
  • Language diversitymakes reporting difficult

ReDPeTT is able to resolve these challenges because:

It is a tracking system using real-time web technologies. Residents enter their own project data in a familiar system reducing staff workload and FETP staff can review in real time. Finally, the modifiable user interface can translate to whatever language is needed for the program

Acknowledgements

We would like to acknowledge the contributions of the FETP staff in developing ReDPeTT.
